There are many amazing Australian “property women” – those who’ve made property their business, and today I want to share some of my favourites.
These property women are investors, renovators, coaches, buyers agents, mentors and top chicks smashing it in the property world.
They’ve all taught and inspired me along the way, either through their books, interviews or podcasts.
Be sure to check them out if you haven’t already.
My Favourite Property Women
I’ve been following Cherie for years since watching her and then partner Stephen talk through their 8 steps to renovation success on a DVD. The “Reno Queen” renovates to profit, not to win design awards (her words, not mine) and has made millions to show for it. Cherie generously teaches others to do so as well through her Renovating for Profit program. I recently went to her seminar and loved her personable and entertaining speaking style. Renovating for profit is my dream job so I soak up everything she says. You can often catch Cherie on The Living Room on Channel 10 and on her own show filmed in the US “5 Day Flip”.
I became completely mad for Margaret’s property investment books several years ago, they were the ones that really launched my investing bug. She writes in a great easy to understand style, keeping complicated topics simple. She uses safe common sense strategies, although her strong lean to positive gearing isn’t for everyone. Margaret is the founder of Destiny Financial Solutions and hosts “Your Property, Your Call” on Sky Business channel.
Jane is a property coach, mortgage broker and author, and is often featured in the top property magazines. Her book “Your Property Success with Renovation: 2 properties, 1 renovation = $1 million in the bank” is another great read. She has recently come onto my radar again when she relaunched the Ultimate Guide to Renovation course.
Cate is often seen at auctions snapping up deals for clients. Whilst building a multimillion dollar portfolio herself (including in Port Pirie, SA), she co-founded Empower Wealth as a director in 2011 before leaving in 2014 to launch Cate Bakos Property; a boutique Melbourne buyer’s agency catering to her loyal clients.
Cate is a regular media contributor, often being featured in Your Investment Property Magazine and Money Magazine.
I came across Karen (Kaz) when she was profiled in a property magazine. She had learned all she could about investing over a number of years, built a portfolio and then started helping others do the same. She now runs a very successful buyer’s agency, Property Zest, winning the REIQ Buyer’s Agent of the Year 2015. Karen also has a great property education podcast “Everyday Property Investing”, that I enjoy listening to in the car on the way to work.
I know I said Cherie had my dream job, but these chicks seriously have it all! Not only do they buy and renovate homes for profit, they are best friends who get to hang out and do it together. They’re the new kids on the block but the renovations they’ve completed so far have been absolutely stunning. They have such a great style. Love, love, love.

These women are inspiring! I love Shayna from Selling Houses Australia. I know she’s not really in property investment as such but I love how she can do so much with a tight budget.
Yes, she’s fabulous. Shayna was actually the 7th on the list but I kept it to 6 just because of the graphic! 🙂
Great post Tash, I love it. xx
Thanks Nicole xx
Thanks Tash they all sound inspirational. Will check them out, was only familiar with the three birds, love their vision
Great to hear Erin, love the Three Birds, they’re everywhere at the moment 🙂
